I have been looking at this plant for years, but I did not realise it was hardy.....is the variegated one also?

I would assume so, although variegated plants are banned here on the whole (there are a couple of exceptions).

I have a proper aversion to them DD! I loath chimeras even more!!!
The two exceptions are tolerated because their blooms are just soooo good....................
