Expensive roses

Wow! just checked out my poorly ‘bargain rose’ on the breeder’s website, I thought the gc was dear but direct from the company it is £25.95 plus postage. I hope everyone who reads this blog is rooting for it’s recovery! I shall be very proud of myself if it is alive and blooming next year! Please check out my question and give me advice if you can.

I have all my fingers crossed for you. I assume its not bear rooted? so given some TLC it should be fine.
If you put - Rose Crown Princess Margareta in the right hand search box, the members who have posted photos on this rose come up such as Gilli and Hywel. Why not ask them directly for some tips?

Funny thing I just read the other blog and mentioned it in my comment lol
It's a climber, but never gets very tall here. Tips ? well I know roses like a rich soil, so maybe if you mixed rose fertilizer in the soil around it, that might help.
I always used to put well rotted horse manure around mine in the winter, when I lived in the old cottage.

Thanks for your responses, I have seen one in bloom and it is beautiful, which is why I bought the poor specimen -cheaply. I am going to plant it this afternoon with a good handful at 'Toprose' fertilizer (if it does not pour down). I hope to put a pergola up for it to climb over..apparently it is a large shrub/ climber hence it not climbing very high, but as I have no walls in my plot a 30 ft. climber would not be a good idea! Just wish the weather would dry up .. everything will be mildewed soon, not just my poor rose.
I am eating home made raspberry ice cream and trying to kid myself it is summer at the moment ..have you seen the long term forecast for the rest of the week ... I won't depress you with the details!
