I am as inexperienced as can be - but very keen to learn. I have a 50' by 20' garden, bedraggled lawn and out of control bushes - some Luarel trees and a beautiful pear tree. The area used to be a Pear orchard until streets where carved through it - so the Pear tree is much older than me and a good 60'.

I am thinking of starting a vegetable patch, and am glad to find such a friendly website, and welcome any advice.
