i take it from your previous question that you might want to know what to do with it. Well unless you have a large garden, keep it in the pot. Unless you have spare ground for it romp over and across, keep it in its pot You can cut down the original stem that is withering, as will the others soon. It is a deciduos plant. it will re appear in spring with multiple extra shoots. I made a mistake of buying one of these years ago, I planted it in a border where it looked wonderful and behaved itself. The following spring I had all this extra growth between 3 and 6 feet away. I immediately dug it out and put it up the OMs wood. Where it is happily fighting with things such as black thorn, ash and himalayan balsam.

Anything that fights ash and blackthorn can't be all bad...
but mine's staying in its pot for now.

Wish ours would romp like that. It is about the same size as it was when I planted it a couple of years back.

Thank you all who contributed some advice. It was much appreciated. I think I will be keeping it in it's large pot for the forseeable future.
