Blood veined sorrel problems

South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

I have some blood veined sorrel, in a port with broad leaved sorrel. The blood veined sorrel develops brown blotches on the leaves. It looks like where rain drops hit the leaves, they're rusting. What could this be and how can I stop it. Also, I have somthing chewing at the new shoots of my mint, which I've never had problems with before.

We have blood veined sorrel which seems to like very damp ground and it does well near a stream. Not sure what the brown blotches are other than some kind of rust fungus. As for your mint, it could be the mint beetle, a bright metallic green beetle, if you have seen these on or near the plant.
