What is best thing for black fly on honeysuckle?
Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
My honeysuckle is covered in black fly and I have tried washing up liquid in water and now tried a spray called Provado Ultimate Bug killer. Is there anything more I can do?

hi there, i bought some stuff called Bug Clear from wilkos recently, as i went out one day and my veg was covered in black and greenfly!! This stuff i have is for fruit and veg, and costs £5.99, but my god its worth it. you dilute in water and spray on. its really good. As i say my stuff was crawling before i used this. the active ingredient is rapeseed, and it really works- kills on contact. If not you can mix, oil with water and a squirt of Washing up liquid. the oil makes them suffocate because they breathe through their skin. yuukk! i hate the damn things, but this is a lot better than soapy water. It hasnt affected my plants either., and its non-toxic. Give it a go!

Buy a bottle of Roseclear 3 and a sprayer to mix it up yourself. Mix according to instructions, spray the leaves (both sides) and stems till run off. The ready mixed bug sprays never work as well as the concentrated, mix it yourself ones.
