I have leylandi growing all around my garden and they seem to be dying, can I train something up them instead of cutting them down.

Yes I agree, I don't hate them like some people do but I'm not keen on dead ones! The soil will be poor and full of roots so you would have trouble getting things established and flourishing immediately in front of them. Good luck, sounds like a difficult job whatever you decide to do!

all plants have a place but your averadge garden isnt it .theres so many stunning trees and shrubs you could have.
