sorry I spelled the plant wrongly in my last question. It is tropaeoluma creeper which thrives on conifers It has just finished flowering producing some deep purple berries, Can I grow plants for next year?

Sorry mg, but T speciosum is only frost hardy down to about minus 5 c, and T tricolorum is only half hardy, just down to freezing, so both will need protection in winter, but seeeds can be sown as soon as they,re ripe in a cold frame, Derek.

I have this growing through my privet hedge. I did not plant it - comes back every year. It sets seed in the border every year - but so far I have been unsuccessful in trying to transplant a seeding. Good luck.

Sorry Derek it is rampaging through areas of Aberdeen that regularly get -15˚C thanks to friends of ours!

If you me T. speciosum it is a hardy perennial as is T. tricolorum so you do not need to do anything.
