How can I stop my Torbay Palm growing any taller?

I have transplanted my Torbay palm (non-flowering) into the ground after 15 years in a pot. It loves the clay soil and has grown 4 ft in 3 years. I would like to try to halt its growth from its potential 30 ft. Currently its 15ft tall. Help?

Cordyline australis (Torbay Palm) can be topped easily and it will shoot away again quite happily from the base or lower stem.
My parents had one in the garden about 25 years ago that suffered badly during that winter. The top was killed but by late spring/early summer, the base had 3 new shoots that bacame three new trunks over time. So not such a big might after all, more a definately will to be honest.

you cant especialy now youve put it in the ground.you could ofr kept it smaller bye bonzi, ing it ie keep it in a smaller container so as to stunt it.it mite and its a big mite grow a new shoot if you butcher the top of but probably not.i wonder why you want such a lovley plant shorter just out of curiosity excuse the spelling.some times the obvious answer to a puzzle isnt the only one.you just need another angle on looking at it.as my nan said r.i.p 2 heads are better than 1 even if there sheeps heads.
