We planted two 3m high Thuja Placata in Mar 12. They are still showing signs of growth, but the fronds are turning a reddish brown colour - mainly from the tree trunk outwards. We water them twice a week with roughly 10 litres per tree. Any ideas on what might be causing this, or is it normal?

It could be the position they,re in, they like a deep, moist but well drained soil, in full sun, but sheltered from cold drying winds, the browning could be wind burn, Derek.
