I know it as Tradescantia Pallida Purpurea. Same plant - different name? Or have I got it completely wrong?

It's the same plant. Sometimes scientists change the names ... can be very confusing.
It's also known as Purple Heart. I used to have one once. They're very pretty.

It's called Setcreasea purpurea....very similar to Tradescantia
