black spot on roses

my partner has just moved into actualy a lovley house and garden.she has a rose growing up the porch which is very nice.it looks a bit sad and has black spots on the leaves.ive never kept roses so never needed to know.thanx hope your all good take care bye for now

Roseclear 3 is my favourite too, most effective. This rose, though, looks like it needs a decent pruning, which would help the disease situation!

Also make sure your friend clears up all the fallen debris (old leaves etc) from underneath the plant as the disease will stay.

Roses and black spot are like bread and butter. Black spot "tends" to occur most in areas of good air quality.. Try to cultivate resistant varieties. Also RoseClear3 is the best for most rose ailments, (it will also see off your white fly).
I grow a select group of my favourite roses that I've discovered 'work best for me' giving few problems - 'cause when a plant is more trouble than it's worth - that's nature saying it's time to move on...
