Question for Bertiefox

I rather fancy the red leaved hazel you mentioned in your answer to the question about red-leaved trees. Can you give me some further info. e.g. its botanical name? Thanks

I think they are quite common: One variety is Corylus avellana red majestic. They are really purple rather than red, but I think they are extremely decorative. I bought ours in a supermarket here (France) but I'm sure I've seen them in most UK garden catalogues.
Jacksonsnurseries.co.uk seems to stock them.
Like all hazels they make lots of suckers so they are easy to propagate once you have one.
