I have looked at all the blogs and was hoping for an answer on the brown tips of the leaves. No one mentioned if you should leave them alone, cut them or whatever. Could someone please answer this question.

Answers
If the tips are brown and dead, you can trim them off if you want to, but just take the brown parts off, not the live tissue of the leaf.

The only pages that pop up when you Google this name are the GOY pages with your query. Does it have another name as far as you know? What kind of palm is it? I couldn't find a mention of it on Wikipedia either.
