I'd appreciate it if any member could give me Species and Variety name for this plant. Sorry the picture is cock-eyed.

The low growing leaves and the upright flower spike remind me of Stachys byzantina (lamb's ears). Leaves don't look silver enough but did the pic come out looking darker than the plant really is? Are the leaves soft and furry to touch?

my first thought was Stachys byzantine too.

OK folks, more information.
Height and spread - 760mm x 600mm
The plant is in a shady spot , but the colour is virtually the same as our Stachys byzantina but that isn't flowering.
The leaves are gorgeous to touch, soft and furry and quite thick.

The Stachys you already have might be a different cultivar such as 'Silver Carpet' as that isn't supposed to flower much - if at all.
Good to hear this one flowers in shade - I want some but sunny spots in my garden are like gold dust.

I'd agree a Stachys on second thoughts. I knew it looked familiar as we have a pale leaved one here (possibly Silver Carpet) but couldn't think what it was!

Thanks for the info, people.

I'd guess a woolly sage, though the flowers don't quite look right for that. (Salvia funerea). What is the size of the plant? (height and spread) The other possibility is that it is some kind of mint, if it is relatively small, though the leaves don't look right for mint.
