Give it chance, it's cooling down now and we've had a bit of a wet week. On nice, warm, sunny days, my sedum is covered in bees, butterflies and hoverflies but this week they've not been around due to the rain we've had.

I agree,they will be back when the sun shines,and it dries up..they will be trying to get as much as they can before it turns cold and wet..or should I say wetter !

You also need to have bees around the garden too, for them to come and visit a Sedum.
It was sunny yesterday and our whole garden was buzzing with every kind of bee. We have plants which provide them with pollen and nectar from late Winter (Snowdrops) to late Autumn (Ivy flowers) and of course plenty of places for them to over winter and no spraying of insecticides.

Thank you for your replies. I should have made the post a little clearer! I do have bees and am planting plants that feed the bees and butterfly's. although the garden is still in its infancy, I have lots of bees on my hanging baskets and my cosmos? I'm just puzzled as to why they haven't found the sedum which is literally right next to the cosmos!
Both of which are still in pots.
I've even been a bit silly and held it next to the hanging basket when bees have been feeding and they are still not interested! The flowers have opened btw!
Of course they could be landing on it while I'm not here but seems strange that they visit plants around it while I watch but not visit!

Oh btw. I also planted a creeping thyme about 4 months ago and it hasn't flowered at all! Not one hint of a flower. It's about 5 inches across so it's not a tiny one. It's in sun (s facing garden). So I'm very puzzled!

Hi Gerberavicki. You bought a creeping thyme 4 months ago and it hasn't flowered yet. It probably flowered at the garden centre before you bought it. Thyme normally flowers late spring / early summer, but plants sown and planted by specialist nurseries tend to flower early in their first year due to the artificial conditions.
Don't forget thyme and most other herbs hate winter wet and do best on very free draining soil with a mulch of small gravel.

Not an reply re the sedum, but for bees and hoverflies try golden marjoram next year.

It could just be that there is more nectar (which they go for at this time of year) on the Cosmos etc, so they do not need to go on the Sedum yet.

Maybe the bees are like kids with 'greens'! The Cosmos must be tastier!

Oh well maybe next year. I hope to have my whole garden buzzing with wildlife next year.

Really looking forward to spring now I have my garden back!
