You might mean Datura - this has the common name Angel Trumpets. If you do, this is a half hardy plant, so you're too late for this year - get one early next year, when they're usually freely available late Spring/early summer. All parts of the plant are highly poisonous.

If a friend has one they are easy to root a cutting from.

Datura and Brugmansia are two different varieties. Daturas are generally smaller and tend to point upwards. Brugmansias are larger more pendulous flowers and hang down. Both are commonly known as Angel's Trumpets and are related to deadly nightshade so if you touch any part of this plant, wash your hands!!

Most good garden centres/nurseries sell this, a Brugmansia. Expect to pay £5-£10 for a 1m tall plant.
