Have you had a bird feeder hanging over this area?

Bird feeder about 8yds away on other side, so yes is that the problem? Imoved it from the gravel garden because of the shoots getting in gravel but none like these.

they look like carex pebdula, a moisture loving grass that spreads like mad and is the bane of my life !!!!!

looking at the two plants in the bed, the ones in the lawn look like smaller versions of these. They look very much like a hemerocallis I have one that sends up new ones all over the place and in the lawn too. It a real pest for spreading by underground runners. I mow them down, but as it has been really wet here for the past 10 days I have been unable to mow and they are growing up again.

Agree, Carex, renamed 'that blasted weed grass' by me. If the ground is damp and the plants small, its easy to uproot in borders, not so easy in the lawn.

Hi all, if it is hemerocallis I Imight try and pot up and keep them weed the rest.In the Lawn they will just get cut with grass and usual feed and weed.
If its carex then its coming out.

There is a weed that looks like hemerocallis when it is very young. If the stem is triangular, then it is the weed. It will also have long white roots that help it spread underground (daylilies are orangey red), and a black seed attached.
