Do I have to remove the leaves on my Acanthus Mollis?

Wait until autumn, then you'll find that they start to turn brown, and they pull off easily. It tidies the bed up, and removes shelter for slugs and snails which love hiding there! The plant disappears under ground for the winter, then comes up in early spring.

mine has never totally disappeared. it is just getting bigger and bigger. I have to keep removing them to prevent neighbours getting swamped. a case of too closely planted.

I do have to cut a few off at this time of year! They get longer and longer - and flop even though the plant is supported!
