Phormium propagation

All the leaves fell off my Phormium and I thought it was dead.bur after cutting it down and leaving it for two or three weeks it has now sprouted approximarely 8 or 9 shoots around the base. How do I remove these to propagate when they are attached to the solid wood of the base please?

They are very thick strong rooted plants if they are established! be warned its a work out!

try seperating the off shoots using two garden forks. you may have to cut them away- use a clean sharp knife to make a clean sterile cut. Pot on and leave in a cold frame...hopefully they should take root
