Hi, i've got a pink stripe phormium in the boarder of my garden. it was planted last summer (09) and the leaves have started to go a brown colour (may 10). should i cut them off or just leave it and see what happens? now sure if it has to much water or feed. over the summer i'll normally feed it every other week

i lost all my phormium over winter it was so bad, i usually take off brown leaves, they have probably got hit by winds or frost, wont do them any harm to remove,

thanks. do you think phoriums have a better chance of survival in pots rather than in the garden?

One of mine was in a pot, so I think the answer is no! Although of course things in pots CAN be moved somewhere sheltered....unfortunately that didn't occur to me this winter :-(
