Good morning all! I am new! Can anyone help me with my osteospurmum?(think it is a spitzhenry) I have a lovely one that is currently in a pot and needs splitting. Will it survive being split now? And if I split it do I really just chop it with a spade or should I tease it appart gently? As you can tell I am a total amateur but what I lack in knowledge I hope I make up for in enthusiasm! Any advice would be most welcome.

Thank you! That's so funny of course I see the error of my ways now - spitzhenry has uploaded a picture that matches my osteospurmum and in my bleary eyed early morning haze I managed to get rather muddled. I think it is, however, a rather good name so I shall now refer to mine as such! Thank you for your advice I shall tease appart tomorrow if the rain stops!

I think you should PM her and tell her she is now famous as a plant name!

Spitzhenry is a member of GOY - I don't think she has given her name to an osteospermum!
Its usually best to tease apart if you can and only chop if its too tough. If it is a tender one it will need bringing under glass for the winter.
