my friend s plant has hardly any leaves on it and looks dead is there any thing i can do to revive it.

These plants need humidity to prevent leaf drop,so standing on a dish/tray of wet gravel and misting the plant in dry conditions should help.
Hallways can be too hot/cold/dark so try to maintain an average temperature if possible.Also a liquid feed monthly.
Finally does it need re potting ?
