wind tolerant plants.

can anyone advise me on what shrubs and perennial plants to grow in a very windy garden.we live on top of a mountain in south wales. any advise would be gratefully received. thank you

Hi, sounds beautiful! Escallonia, Olearia, Tamarix, Beech trees and wild black cherry are very hardy of wind. Good luck! Miss C

Here's a list of stuff for cold windy sites:
Chamaecyparis, Crataeagus, Cupressus, Prunus, deciduous Euonymus, Corylus, Acer, Berberis, Buddleia, Calluna, Erica, Gaultheria, Hippophae, Ilex, Kalmia, Leucothoe, Salix, Sambucus
Perennials:
Achillea, Ajuga, Armeria, Bergenia, Cimicifuga, Coreopsis, Iris, Primula, Pulmonaria, Sempervivum, Tanacetum, Hesperis
In terms of bulbs, Alliums, and there are two grasses - Miscanthus and Stipa.
