As long as the tomatoes aren't going too soft or mouldy, they should be fine. I've found that cherry tomatoes seem to ripen fine on blighted plants, while the large 'beefsteak' types always go brown and mushy. If you can save what you have of your crop, then do it.
Bordeaux mixture, sprayed on the plants before blight strikes, is a good remedy, as long as you wash the fruit well before eating.

Hi Redhunter and welcome. So long as the actual tomatoes have not been infected then they will be fine to eat. Just destroy the whole plant, burn or bin and, as they are in containers, dispose of the soil too.
