Mecanopsis x cookei Old Rose
I intend to make an alpine trough out of a fish box and bought these to plant.
Can anyone recommend an appropriate mix of compost etc to use.

Humus rich but well drained. In a trough I would suggest:
1 part loam; 2 parts humus; 2 parts grit. Loam from the garden; humus from leafmould or peat-free multipurpose compost (New Horizon is good); grit is grit. A bit of bonemeal as extra fertiliser.
