thanks for reply I might give that a try
my only concern is that the weeds are huge this place is overgrown.
So do i get in there hands on as I think weed killer take to long and dig them out.
And also the plastic must be full of holes already if huge weeds are growing there?

Are you sure that it's plastic? Could it be a membrane? Try pulling one up and see if it comes up easily. Our predecessors laid a membrane in one area of the garden, and it is really easy to pull up weeds that grow there. Try it before you use weedkiller - you may still have to if the weeds are relly deep rooted!
