what is best feed to use when planting new young laurel

United Kingdom

I will be planting a laurel hedge over the weekend & would like to know the best feed to see them through the winter

When you are planting use plenty of compost in each hole, and Blood, Fish and Bone dressed on top. Good luck, have a good weekend.

Most important to not let it dry out but this year that is not likely!!!

Agree with the above, BUT I wouldn't put the fish blood and bone on the top, I'd put in the planting holes - it attracts cats, rats, mice, dogs if on the top.

Yes, when I planted my laurel hedge the guy in the GC said to add compost and bonemeal in the hole before planting. We did this and the laurel is doing brilliantly - good luck

Buy a mackeral, plant it in the hole with the roots. As it rots it feeds the roots.
Encourages good root growth.
Blood and bonemeal is good too.

How do I say thanks?
