You can also try air layering. This involves putting compost in a plastic bag a little way along the shoot and waiting til roots appear. Then you can separate it from the parent plant.

You can take hardwood cuttings. You need a heat propagator and not to keep the soil too damp and they are slow to root and the heat helps. Too damp and the cutting rots.
