I check for vine weevil grubs first then use it as a mulch on the borders.

Yes, a real pain those vine weevils, but if your sure there are no pests the compost can be refreshed with fertiliser and used for a different crop. It is as well to remove as many roots as possible. In the third year it can be added to beds and borders. I also use it on seed drills as it makes it easier for the seedlings to break through especially if the soil is heavy.

I check mine to then add it as mulch to my woodland area .
And the compost under there is the best in the garden as its close to my greenhouse.

Previous question
Use it as a mulch to protect the crowns of vulnerable plants, or mix it in with your compost in the bin.
