I know foxgloves are bennial, so mine are at the leafy stage now so next year they should bloom...
do they have to be bought in over winter or covered up or do they just die back themselves?

On plant Foxgloves

Just leave them where they are - they overwinter just fine, might look a bit tatty at the end of it, but they'll grow beautifully next year.

Alcea rosea are actually perennial, but the recommendation is to treat them as biennial because they tend to get rust if left longer. I'd leave them in and see what they do next year ,if you like them - if they get rust, haul them out.

Hi Mookins. I love foxgloves too. You can buy 'perienniel foxglove' seeds from GCs. Really easy to grow. I got some about 4 weeks ago and have loads of wee seedlings to plant out now in Oct. Perennial foxgloves do sound too good to be true though. Maybe someone (?Bamboo) can tell us if they are for real...lol

Glad you asked that question about foxgloves Mookins, I'v got a lush one growing in one of my pots that housed some lillies, it settled there on its own , and I was at a loss as to what to do with it -------now I know !!!
