My Pieris forest flame leaves turning yellow & falling off.

Previously very healthy mature Pieris 4m tall infested with an arrow head shaped fly black & white (translucent). Underside of leaves a slightly sticky residue prior to falling off. What can I treat it with?

I don't recognise the pest you're describing, so I'd be inclined to buy something like Provado or a similar general purpose bug spray and give that a try. At 4m high though, it's surely going to be difficult to spray the whole plant.
