What distance should you plant small young buxus trees

As they grow slow I did not want to plant them too close together.

If you can afford bigger plants you might consider it. I planted tiny boxus plants and its taken 2 years for them to start growing. The larger ones I planted did much better.

Depends which Buxus - microphylla or sempervirens. One gets 3 feet high and the other over 10 feet, so will spread more as well.
And are you using it for hedging? If so, plant about 18 inches apart, no more, and trim the top third, unless the plants are tiny.
