Hello all :-) Ive been keeping up to date with everyone but havent posted in some time.I really need some expert help with an identification that i would guess will even challenge Andrew and Barbara! This tree was posted by a friend on her blog .She lives in New Zealand and its spring there now .It looks like a sorbus leaf to me and yet i cant find a hint of a sorbus that colours like that in Spring .Ive checked out all the Japanese maples but agai ..wrong leaf shape .Thought about a Rhus but nothings appearing .I want this tree at any cost ,even if it has to live indoors .I'm in love :-)) so any help please would me most appreciated .Thank you .:-)

This tree is called Cedrela sinensis. The pink foliage is quite spectacular and it is reasonably hardy too.

Specifically the selection of it called 'Flamingo'. :-)

The name Toona is synonymous with Cedrela.
