Sounds perfect. Don't forget to plant a few dwarf spring bulbs around it, preferably something to compliment the blue flowers.

ceanothus thysiiflorus repens evergreen spreads across and up to 3ft lots of mid blue flowers in spring hardy, any well drained soil but likes dry sunny sheltered site best
