How do I remove a buddleia from a wall?
By Rogermcfc
A buddleia has grown on the top of a brick wall. Its roots have begun to dislodge mortar and move some bricks

The only way is to pull the tree out and then repair the wall. If left, the roots will invade the joints in the wall and it will become dangerous.

if there is damage already the winter wet and frost will only make it worse. so cut it down and then remove loose bricks and rebuild from there. combination of mg and bh advice. it will only become more unstable.

I would think the only solution is to cut it off at ground level and then treating with a stump rotting agent. Trying to remove in any other way is going to cause more damage to the wall.
