Flame Tree - or what?

This is my wife Elaine's pride & joy. She calls it her "Flame Tree" but we do not know its correct name. It is quite magnificent in summer. Its leaves range from a dark brown to near crimson. Any thoughts please?

It's the colour of a Cotinus but as Mookins says, it needs a close up of the leaves to be more accurate :-)

I'd say it's definitely Cotinus coggrygia Royal Purple, commonly known as smokebush because of the feathery, cloud like flower formations. There is one other possible though, so as others have requested, close up would be good. Does it have purplish leaves all summer?

I agree with you two. It looks like Cotinus.
