Mystery seeds

My Japanese friend has sent me this packet of seeds. She said I should sow them now (got them last month) and said they will stand to very cold weather. I didn't have a space until now. The latin name is ORYCHOPHRAGMUS but I can't find them in any of my books.

Thank you all. Bamboo that was quick - edible leaves sounds good.
I suppose its best to regard it as an annual.

Very pretty flowers...looks a bit like Hesperis (rocket family?) hence the edible leaves perhaps?
