Storing Dahlias over winter?
By Tate

Many sources say if I want to save my dahlia tubers over winter I should dig them up after first hard frost killed the plants' tops. I now have some wet snow and + 2 C. Should I still hold on digging?

all the books say lift ,clean dry dust with coppersulphat, I lost a lot more by lifting them than leaveing them in,these days I leave them were they are . I personaly think that unless the ground tends to hold a lot of water in the winter they are better off were they are,

I agree with Doon you live in MA gets very cold there? so dig them up leave upside down to drain then store in compost or newspaper.

Nope dig them as fast as you can, check the great article on the members page right now for tips. Never to late, but clean them off en store them in peat or mulch. Check out the article.
