I think Mealybug is the winning answer. Are there any home peperations that would help or is it in with the big guns?

Big guns, I'm afraid! Make sure the one you get actually does treat for mealybug and that its suitable for use on your plant.

Crassula arborescens or the similar species Crassula ovata are sometimes called Money Plants and they definitely do suffer from mealy bugs as I have found once!

I remember using malathion for mealybug, Fractal, not sure its still available though, if not, what's the best treatment now?

You could use Provado spray. An expert with house plants once told me that meths painted directly onto them is still very effective (if the plant is not too large!).

I'm not sure what a money plant is, to be honest, but I think its a houseplant? Sounds like mealybug, but a photo would be helpful - if it is mealybug, you can get a spray treatment for it.
