I have bought a pieris forest flame, Does it need to be planted in full sun or semi shade.

I grew one in a large pot....I had it in semi-shade...It stayed in the pot for about 10 years....it was beautiful but out grew its space so my sister planted it in her garden in semi-shade and its looking wonderful....:>)

Prefers full sun or light shade... ours is in he nearest thing to full sun in our garden.

Hi Tulsa, I don't know if I'm speaking out of turn here but it does need ericaceous compost (not sure of the spelling!) I found out by the lovely members here on GoY!

Good point Ian... I sometimes assume folk know it needs acidic soil which isn't always the case ;-)

Just want to interject here and say that actually, Pieris is another "woodland" plant that prefers dappled shade and moisture retentive, but free draining soil - so plant it somewhere out of full sun, say half and half.
