Silver Lace Vine

I want to grow a Silver Lace Vine in almost full shade. Since it is the fastest vine known, I was wondering if it will do decent and grow almost as fast in the full shade.

Polygonum aubertii, also know as the "Mile a minute vine". Very pretty white foamy flowers.

Oh - I see. I know that one from having it in Kent - all over the shed - so much so that the shed vanished! LOL.
I thought it was called Polygonum baldschuanicum??

So - what's the difference, please, Bamboo? My RHS book is not helpful this time!

Seems to grow even faster and has a silvery look to its growth - I googled it, wasn't in my books either!

Oh well - I won't be planting one! :-(

Hopefully it'll be supplied with a machete...or a supply of napalm;-)

The shrubby climbers from Polygonum were placed in the genus Fallopia a few years back though many references still use Polgonum.

is it what we call "russian vine" presumably because it 'rushes everywhere' ;-)

I'll check out 'Fallopia' then. Thanks Fractal! I just like to KNOW things!

Inquiring minds need to know Spritz. That's not a bad thing...I'm the same way. Gets me in trouble sometimes. You should have seen the trouble I stirred up at a city informational meeting on new pesticide by laws last night. LOL. It livened things up a bit.

Yes it will, it'll grow anywhere, 20 feet in a season and just keep going - and good luck with that, hope you've got a few acres of garden;-)
