What colour will my Lupins be?

I have sown seeds collected from my blue lupin and they are growing well. Will they be the same colour as the parent plant?

They may be, but lupins usually revert to their natural colour in the wild - which is purple, but that's quite nice anyway!

Sid's right, they don't come true from seed, they're almost always the basic lilac colour

Thanks for answering Sid and Bamboo. Looking forward to any colour of Lupin ( as long as the snails and slugs don't eat them.) lilac/purple will fit in with the rest of my garden and I'm sure my friends will take some off my hands whatever the colour.

Good luck with them. Cups of beer let into the ground are effective at catching/killing slugs and are not toxic to hedgehogs! :-)

Thanks Sid, I'm going to try that this year as I've got a real problem with snails and slugs.

Gosh Sid I can just see all these blotto hedgehogs stumbling around your garden... you'll have to start leaving Panadol out for them next lol
