Depends what they are - climbers and HTs early spring, ramblers September, floribunda a little bit now and more in the spring is the official recommendation. Some can be taken off HTs (hybrid teas) now to reduce height to prevent windrock during winter gales. Check the two questoins above yours on roses - more answers there for you.
