I am starting seeds now, for next year, how long does it take from seed to bloom.

If you're not struggling for space, why not??
One of the best specimens that I had was one that had self seeded that I rescued about this time of year. It had just the two leaves that they germinate with, & due to the lack of daylight it got leggy & so got pinched out. Turned into an absolute monster!!

OH good, maybe I'll give it a try then.....not sure if I can warrant keeping the heated propagator switched on all winter tho with just one lot of seeds in ;-)

I've only ever done them on a windowsill. 6 per 7cm pot.
If they don't germinate try the rest in the propagator in January.

All things being equal, you should see flowers on your Datura (not Brugmansia) by mid summer next year.
Soak the seeds overnight before sowing, & don't let the plants become pot bound. Put the plants into the biggest pot that you have available mid May. When the blooms start to open try to sheade them from the worst of the afternoon sun & they will last longer.
