I agree with Drc - it wouldn't survive in your part of the world - it isn't hardy in many parts of the UK!

Depends if Guest is from British Columbia. They can grow a surprising range of plants in Victoria. Anywhere else....as above!

spritz - it may grow on the west coast of Canada, around Vancouver, which has a maritme climate

Ooops! Sorry - I should have checked my geopraphy, shouldn't I!

Never here about that part I suppose?

True...and this 'guest' doesn't tell us where in that huge country he/she lives!

I wish they would Spritz its nice to know if their question has been answered sometimes

That is one of the things I am finding difficult about 'guests' Spritz we know so little about them. As GoYers we build up relationships with each other and know what sort of thing is, or isn't likely to grow. This feels like we are just being used as a way of answering questions with nothing coming back to us. I have had private conversations with Peter and Ajay on this and I gather other GoYers have to.

Yes - I totally agree! (with you, Mg, and with Drc).

'Gold coast' Cliffo now just which bit of Canada is that?
16 Nov, 2009
I sent one, Mg. :-))

I've sent several now and can only hope this will cease... Perhaps we could have an area for 'Guests' to post in which we choose to visit - or not... I just feel used right now! And NOT by any GoYer please note - happy to do my best to answer any of your questions (senior moments aside - lol)

Well - let's wait and see what happens.

I have mellianthus major which seems to be fine where I live on the Isle of Wight (south uk). It was ok during the storms over last weekend, but I will have to see how it does over the Winter. I had a mellianthus comosus in a shady damp spot last year and it didn't make it through last Winter. Beautiful plants and the foliage is gorgeous

Dont think toxicity is a problem But in a public place would it not be too cold where you are ? as it needs shelter if it is cold wet and windy?
