Could someone please tell me, are these flower buds or new leaves on my Camellia...Its been growing in a pot for a few years and has never flowered...I do take care of it...sheltered spot away from morning sunshine, i fed it through the summer months with suitable feed and top-dress it annually...thanks

Bulbaholic might be right, but its hard to say - the buds do appear about now onwards and sit there till the spring - fingers crossed that at least some of them are actually flower buds, Motinot. Healthy looking plant, by the way.

No they don't look like buds, maybe you're looking after it too well.

I'd say from looking at it you have a mixture of buds and leaf buds there

I rather like Andrea's answer..lol.......Thanks Bulba......Thanks for your answer too Bamboo....Heron, I never bothered with it really until this season and because it had never flowered i fed it weekly with an ericaceous feed and kept it well watered with rain water during july and august...i think thats when the flower buds form...is that correct...Thank you all again....:>)

Sorry, Motinot, But I suspect that there are just too many buds for them to be flowers.
