My clematis alpina has lost its leaves this autumn. Is this normal?

Answers

Yes, it is. This is a deciduous species of Clematis.

most types of clematis do. The armandii type which flower in winter usually have leaves all year, though they will shed the odd leaf through the seasons. hope this extra bit of info helps especially if you want to extend your collection.
