I had 3 young plants about 10 inches, with only leaves. I put 2 in the yard and one at the edge of the carport, The deer ate the tops off. Will they ever come back.

Rabbits also a problem Heron, so sorted it all in one go. Hasn't stopped the pheasants or Heron..... not tall enough for that!
