chicken manure? does anyone know how nutritious this is, and what plants would most benefit, also should it be left till it is not quite so fresh! many thanks

this is the raw stuff delivered straight from the chickens - i havent actually got it yet but can have it if i want. thanks

Lucky you, keep it 'till Spring and either scatter it over the ground or mix it with soil/compost. Not too much though as it's potent.

Chicken manure is very strong and rich in nitrogen. Therefore, it is of most benefit to leafy plants like cabbages. As Heron says, leave it outdoors to weather until at least spring.

Sorry to ressurect such an old question. I've added poultry manure to my soil about 4 weeks ago, can anyone tell me how often I should reapply? Many thanks, Lee

Junie you're in luck as we have an expert on it here, Do you mean the pellets from the shop or the ones that you find in the chicken run? Obviously now isn't the time to apply it but in Spring it is a great boost.
